Hello, my name is Sophie, I am 18 years old and from Blackpool. I have just finished my A-level exams and I am so excited to have become a team member of Just Youth for the following year. I heard of Just Youth through the CAFOD Step into the Gap Programme, which I am apart of, where you spend a year in the UK volunteering in a community centre or a retreat centre and the other part educating people about the work of CAFOD.

I chose Just Youth as my UK placement as I felt it had a community sense and belonging which I love. I am looking forward to be volunteering in the local area through leading voluntary retreats and missions, public speaking in Mass, but most importantly going into the schools and delivering fun and educational lessons that we have prepared and planned as a team to help the children and young people to grow and learn more about their faith and to be apart of that. This year I hope to reflect on my faith and share it with others in the community.

I am a very enthusiastic person and I am ready to go into Just Youth with an open and driven mind. I am ready to embrace all the challenges I will face through this very productive busy year and meet people from all walks of life in and outside the community but more importantly, I am ready to put my faith into action to encourage young people to engage in Christian spirituality and to make positive life choices.
